At the first ever time in the history of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka WTM had done Design Sprint on 16th of June 2018 which was powered by GDG Sri Lanka. In the same day IO rewind also happened in parallel to this session.Backbone of these event was Association of Rajarata Information and Communication Technology (ARICT).ARICT has done immense work in case of organizing this event as well as GDG and WTM deserved.Design Sprint was open for all tech enthusiast girls in Rajarata University of Sri Lanka,Vavuniya Campus and University of Jaffna.
What was the topic
The topic of the day was Design Sprint.Event was mainly conducted by Mrs.Michella Mayadunne with the help of Miss Uthpala Weerakoon(4th year student of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka) and Miss Dilanka Perera.
How was the flow of this event
Event flow was really interesting. One of the main reason for the event become more interesting was that they scheduled it in very interactive manner. It was consist with number of group works.Actually there were awesome five groups. Each and every group done well because they all want to give there final output to the pitch in high quality.
End of the day what we had
I am pretty sure that other than the design sprint methodology students were able to learn much and more knowledge. How to performed best as a team according to the given time is one of the major thing that we learned from there. One of another cool fact of this event was all participants were able to get stickers as small memo to keep remember about WTM event at RUSL.
At the end of the day ARICT presented simple souvenir to WTM by thanking them to share an interesting and fruitful day with us.Then after event was wined up around 3.00pm.
Of course there are number of events around colombo for IT entusiasts to gather new knowledge.Unfortunately it was little difficult to travel for some students who studying in far areas as Mihintale,Vavuniya ,Jaffna etc.
In that type of situation it was so glad and humble pride for us to have you guys in our university!Thankyou GDG Sri Lanka and Woman Tech Makers for visit Rajarata University and having an interacting sessions with us.And again we must thankyou for ARICT for organizing such a event in Rajarta University of Sri Lanka. Thanks for u all in Advance.
