Microsoft brings its new Surface Pro on stage

Last 23rd (Tuesday) Microsoft announced its new Surface Pro, with numerous step ups from the last versions, remarkably better battery life of 13.5 hours. It is lighter and powerful than its older siblings.

The exterior of Surface Pro has been redesigned with rounded edges which makes it easy to hold and with new hinge that is adjustable up to 165 degrees making it nearly lay flat. And with it the users can put the device in to Studio Mode, the optimal position to write and sketch.

The display dimensions remains the same 12.3” PixelSense™ Display yet with advancements to collaborate with the new Surface Pro pen to deliver an unequaled inking experience. The new stylus senses it when we tilt it at an angle and has 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity. Unlike other releases, now the pen is not bundled in the box, it is to be purchased separately and its previous versions too are compatible with the Surface Pro.

Microsoft has made it even more useful by adding new pen-centric features to Office letting the users be more creative with digital ink.

The devices is with sleep improvements which let us open or close the thing without worrying about the battery anymore.

What interior refinements?

With every new release Microsoft has been pushing the boundaries of performance of these devices. It has moved to newer seventh generation Intel Core Processors, including Core m3, and Core i5 and Core i7 U-series options. It comes with a range of memory and storage configurations, allowing 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB of 1866MHz LPDDR3 RAM and SSDS from 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and even 1TB for the storage.

The surface Pro supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1 connections as standard. And they are finally adding the option for integrated 4G LTE, for an additional fee.

The new Surface Pro comes with a decent choice of colors Platinum, Burgundy and Cobalt Blue.

So the new device will be launched on June 15 in 25 selected markets starting at a price of $799. And the pre-orders have already being taken. The new Surface Pen too will be available in the coming weeks.
